It's safe to say that the Marvel presentation at the Disney Investor Day Meeting was one of the most massive loads of information the studio has ever brought to fans at once. This includes the debut of four new Disney+ trailers, confirmations for multiple new projects in the Disney+ future, and even an official announcement for the MCU's first movie centered around the Fantastic Four!
Included in the Disney+ announcements was some information on the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk, including the confirmation that Tatiana Maslany will play the leading role. Two other cast members were also brought to light, one of which had been expected for a while and the other coming as a major surprise.
CONFIRMATION
Kevin Feige confirmed at the Disney Investor's Meeting that She-Hulk on Disney+ will include appearances by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Tim Roth as the Abomination.
WHAT THIS MEANS
This is yet another exciting confirmation coming from this high-profile meeting, especially since it confirms rumors that have permeated the interwebs all year long. Mark Ruffalo has been rumored to be a part of She-Hulk for much of 2020, and his appearance makes a great deal of sense considering his relationship with Jennifer Walters in the comics. Now the expectation is for their story to be brought to the screen as Banner gives Walters his blood and pushes her transformation into She-Hulk.
Tim Roth’s return as the Abomination is one of the most unexpected announcements of the entire night, marking only his second full appearance in the MCU. The last fans saw of him was when the Hulk beat the living snot out of him in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, and considering the rights issue between Marvel and Universal, this series should make for a massive return as he is brought back into the fold.
She-Hulk will shoot in early 2021 as it prepares to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
